about

This is a song I composed back on January 23rd, 2016 and was recorded February 17th, 2016. The influence came from many sources, but the main one was the Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders. He has generated a lot of positive enthusiasm among a wide range of people and I have been caught up in this wave. He is the only candidate that exhibits the level of caring and humanity that the world needs, not just this country. There are many citizens that are afraid of his policies, and are afraid of the title he gives himself. But if you really stop and examine what kind of person he is, you will see that we NEED him on our side. Please, for the love of humanity, don't be caught in the web of lies and hate that some of these presidential candidates are spinning. Even if you don't believe in Senator Sanders's views, look at the man and observe that he is running on a platform of love, peace, and understanding...

This is the first time in my life I have ever tried singing. I'm a saxophonist! I had been listening to a lot of Isley Brothers and Kendrick Lamar around the time I wrote this. The bridge chord changes are the same as the verse chords from Lamar's song Complexion(A Zulu Love) from his album "To Pimp A Butterfly". I hope you enjoy, and remember, together, our voices can be heard. WE need to unite and fight for what we believe is right for the good of all people.

lyrics

We can change the quality of our life Sit up, stand up for your given rights Shame you do not realize Influential you are There's no stopping progress Lifting our voices tonight Fear is what they abuse to contain you Money, health, and education lost We can rise above it Many verse a few All you have to do is Let it be known you will fight...back Chorus: Hear Me Now, Hear Me Loud... Bridge: War tears us apart Earth needs a brand new start Positivity beats all their hate
